Classic Hornby BR Class 31 A1A-A1A 31139 Locomotive - Era 6

The locomotive, initially allocated to the Ipswich Engine Shed, carried the first number D5557 before moving to numerous other locations across the country. It was later given the number 31139 under TOPS and upgraded to Class 31/4 specification in 1984, followed by another re-numbering to 31438.

Ultimately, the storied locomotive's final reallocation was to Crewe in 1988, and in 1993, it underwent modifications and was re-numbered again to 31538, remaining in BR service until 1995. The locomotive was then chosen for preservation and is currently located at the Epping Ongar Railway, bearing the number 31438.

The item in the box is a 1:76 Scale 00 Gauge Diesel Locomotive, operated by British Rail during the British Rail Pre-TOPS era (1957-1971).
